A weekend modelling + texturing exercise with one of my recent favourites, the K31 rifle; an elegant piece of Swiss precision engineering and marksmanship. The K31 is the modernised refinement of the Schmidt-Rubin action originally developed before the turn of the century, made for the newer GP11 smokeless ammo in the 30's. The rough condition of the butt stocks typical of this rifle are attributed to stacking rifles in the snow, and being kicked by military cleated boots.
